DEC112 builds upon modern standards, designing efficient and barrier-free emergency calls. Based on NG112 we already implement next generation emergency calls. SInce 2019 we have been running NG112 core services including the text-based DEC112 emergency call in Austria and are constantly improving these services.
The DEC112 App offers barrier-free means to call emergency services to all people in Austria. Users can chat with the public safety answer point via a simple chat interface. The DEC112 app also includes the Silent Emergency Call, which allows to make an emergency call without being noticed, if one finds oneself in acute danger.
Currently no audio communication between the public safety answering point and the user is possible. However, in the future there shall be audio and video support implemented within the DEC112 app.
